A report is a brief account of an event that has already taken place. The report helps in recording the events of importance that occur in our day-to-day life. It attempts to present the firsthand information of an incident or event. A report of an event presents a record of events that took place. A report of an event includes one’s ideas, opinions and impressions about the event.

1. Your college observed the "Teacher's day" on 5th September. Prepare a report in about 100 words on the event to be published in your college magazine.


  TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION AT J.B COLLEGE

Guwahati,6th September: Along with the rest of the country, the birthday of DR. S Radhakrishnan, former president of India and world wide fame teacher was celebrated as teachers day on 5th September at J.B COLLEGE with full enthusiasm. The function was organized by the students union of the college. The function commenced at 10:00 am just after the 2nd period was over . The principal presided over the function.


   The general Secretary of the students union explained the purpose of the programme and the importance of the day . some of the teachers spoke about the significance of the day . The speakers dwelt on the various aspects of the life of DR Radhakrishnan. Some of the students also spoke on the occasion. The teachers were felicitated with Garland's and gamochas they were much delighted by the eventual function.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATED AT XYZ COLLEge

Nagaon, 6th June 2020 : The World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 5/6/2020 at XYZ College, Nagaon. With the objective to create awareness on environment issues, the college authority started the programme with a plantation programme by the teachers and the students. Mr. X, the eminent environmentalist of the town was invited as the chief guest of the celebration. After the explanation of the objective of the programme, the guest was felicitated with a traditional Gamocha by the students. It was followed by a song by a group of the college students. It was followed by the speech of the chief guest. In his speech, the chief guest delivered an informative account on the issue of deforestation, its outcomes and the possible mechanisms to resolve the problem. He appealed the students to grow more trees and be compassionate to the natural resources.

 A group of students enacted a one act play on the effects of water pollution. Some teachers also delivered speeches on different aspects of environment degradation. In his speech, the Principal of the college, Mr. A highlighted on the different government initiatives in the field of environment protection and appealed the students to co-operate with the schemes.   The observation came to an end with the rendering of the national anthem.

DELHI BOUND GUWAHATI EXPRESS DE-RAILED,TW0 DEAD

Nalbari, 14 April, 2020 : Train accidents are taking place frequently these days. The engine and the first five bogies of the Delhi bound Guwahati Express derailed near Nalbari, leaving two dead and several others injured yesterday around 2.00 p.m. The cause of the accident is yet unknown but eye –witness said that it occurred because the track was broken and the driver was given no prior information. A crowd gathered near the site and informed the Railway police which rushed to the accident-site. 

    With the help of the local people, the trapped were pulled out to safety. The injured were immediately taken to the nearby govt, hospital. Identity of most of the passengers has not yet been known. An inquiry commission has been set up to look into the matter and the govt. has promised to give a compensation of Rs. One lakh each to the family of the deceased. The movement of trains in this line has been temporarily suspended.                                                                                                                                


4. You are Manav/Archana of Gyanmandir School, Tinsukia. Your school has recently organized a blood-donation camp. As the organizer of the programme, write a brief report in 100-125 words to be published in your school magazine.


GYANMANDIR SCHOOL ORGANIZES BLOOD DONATIOnCAMP

Tinsukia, 5th March : Gyanmandir School organized blood donation camp at its premises to celebrate its silver jubilee. A team of doctors of the govt. hospital arrived in the school at 9.00 a.m where forty students had volunteered to donate blood. The donors underwent a preliminary checkup after which they were made to lie down. The first to donate blood was the Principal himself, followed by his staff and then by the students. Each one was given a refreshment of milk. Biscuits and fruits donation. When asked about their reaction, the students said that they felt fortunate to have got an opportunity to serve humanity and save the lives of many people. The doctor and the Principal thanked all the students and other donors for this noble cause.


5. You are an eye witnes to a road accident in which a school going boy and an old man was killed and many passengers were injured. As a press reporter of an English daily write a report about the accident in 100-150 words. You are Mohsin.


MISHAP IN GUWAHATI,TWO KILLED MANY INJURED

Guwahati,17th may: Road accident in guwahati have been very frequent these days. Such a horrible road accident took away two innocent lives yesterday.
    A school bus collided with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction on national high way 37 near boragaon area. The driver of the bus head lost control while the tanker tried to take a sharp turn. As a result the school bus over turned. While the oil tanker caught fire . One school going boy died on the spot and at least twelve passengers injured.
      However the fire brigade arrived within ten minutes to put out the fire and injured passengers were soon taken to the GMCH
